SAWMILL SUPERVISOR

Job summary:
The Sawmill Supervisor, under the supervision of the Operations Manager, is responsible for organizing and coordinating the production of the sawmill. He directs the employees of the production unit as well as the mechanical department to ensure that the objectives set in terms of costs, deadlines, quantity and quality are met.
Main responsibilities:
- Direct operators and production units to ensure they reach the performance, time, quantity and quality targets;
- Organize and coordinate the production of the different production cells;
- Ensure compliance with company procedures (quality, scheduling work, absences, discipline, etc.);
- Perform regular floor tours within all units of production;
- Assign a workload and resources to each resource (machine, man) production objectives;
- Ensure the delivery of pre-established production rates;
- Address production issues related to types of work methods and the equipment
- Demonstrate exemplary compliance with safety regulations;
- Ensure the application of established OSH standards and procedures;
- Participate in the development, establishment and communication of performance objectives and indicators in terms of productivity, efficiency, OSH, etc.;
- Manage conflicts;
- Communicate results (KPIs by sector) to your team and foster communication within your team to maximize the achievement of objectives set;
- Provide the necessary support to achieve the objectives of its employees (e.g. training, environment, management tool, work tool, etc.);
- Assess the training needs of the work team;
- Provide technical support to the various departments;
- Participate in the resolution of quality and production issues;
- Coaching employees to develop talent within the organization;
- Perform any other related duties at the request of his or her supervisor immediate.
Requirements:
- Minimum of five (5) years of supervision experience, an asset with wood;
- Excellent leadership;
- Sense of responsibility and organization;
- Fluent in Spanish is an asset;
- Microsoft Office fluent.
